He opened the musical box

He opened the musical box
And as the music-roll spun out a Mozart tune
The doctor and the nurse spun round
In a blissful embrace

The poor, the homeless, came to see
They get down on their knee
And watched the couple dancing

In the little mirrors, they were multiplied
A clockwork team, gliding round

The doctor and the nurse
Who couldn’t heal one Fahrenheit of pain
To make you well again

But get one for your bedside
Maybe you’d sleep happily
With someone to watch over you
That you can keep inside and open up
To see a little music-roll spin
To see the doctor and the nurse begin their song
In blissful embrace
