I live by the river
Here it is forming an ox-bow
On the muddy plain
Soon the river
Gathering its force
Will want to straighten out
Can time
Do the same
And form an ox-bow
In the misty sky
Then straighten out
Leaving behind
The C shape
Like a baby embryo
That grows
Into a lake
Cut of
From the main-stream
As torrents of water
Crash across the neck of land
Of the ox-bow curve
And make straight again
