I want to be but I am not
I have no medallion, I have no epitaph
I want to be, I said to myself
This has to be the truth

I was first, but first is not always good
There are traps for those first
There are ways in with no way out

The early bird garbage truck is empty
It move on, thinks of itself
It is a limousine, gleaming and new

Now, driving through the crowded streets
Blowing kisses at the girls, feted and heroic
But leaving behind a pile of trash
