You cannot live in a Thicket

Em Am Em
You can bully and speak ill of the dead
You can trample down and burn with fire
You can rob the poor and rape the lonely
But you cannot live in a thicket
But you cannot live in a thicket

You can bark orders and order executions
You can change lives and enslave lives
You can control continents and murder nations
But you cannot live in a thicket
But you cannot live in a thicket

Dm Am Em
Snails climb and birds jump, and life
Grows like the roadside thicket
They don’t mind the tangle of wood
They don’t mind the tangled picket
Stretching further and further into eternity
Stretching further and further into eternity

It’s difficult to do anything evil from inside a thicket
