The cat would not let go

the cat would not let go_000113

The cat would not let go. Drawn on notebook paper, colour added digitally. Part of my childhood nightmares was about the power of the train. The image is from the silent movie scene where the baddie has tied the heroine to the railway tracks. the cat – again – is from the dream where something strange sits on you in the night, also something I’ve experienced, and echoes that the famous painting by Fuseli depicts.
