Chechen Fighters

Chechen fighters
Have joined the fight
To win the right
To their memories
Or their place in the world
Or a loved one’s heart
Who may or may not
Love them any more
And do they care
When they leave towns
Shaken by their anger
What does it mean?
The skin on the milk
Is fragile in war
And all it means is
You don’t need
a bayonet
to break it
and to drink it
you could see this
in two ways
one is that the cow
supplies the milk
to anyone who asks
the other
is to kill the milkman
and there was this country
there was this nation
who lived in peace
despite their trials
and tribulations
they were ready to start again
and make amends
and were still friends
with all their neighbours
and they gave to everyone
because they were delighted
by their freedom
and there is very little need at all
to try and destroy them
